Today, JDSU introduced its brand new Small Cell Assurance Solution (SCAS), geared toward being the first comprehensive portfolio with the main goal of performing critical testing, optimization and monitoring of small cell networks.

Small cell networks have become more popular, as more and more people use cellular networks. The bandwidth for these networks is constantly in demand, and mobile operators and network equipment manufacturers understand that small cell technology can literally come to the rescue.

A small cell network operating at peak efficiency is one that can keep the speed and reliability of the mobile network at the top of its game. The downside is that there are unique and complex issues that come with small cell networks.

The JDSU (News - Alert) SCAS is built to handle those issues without making the user bat an eye.

Among the portfolio that JDSU is offering is a number of great tools, including the NetComplete EtherASSURE, the PacketPortal and the Micro Ethernet Probe. The EtherASSURE solution is a scalable software platform that gives the user centralized and automated testing.

This makes sure the small cell backhaul is meeting the performance needs of the network.

The PacketPortal actually provides points of testability for small cell networks that are able to find the blind spots in a small cell network that create real problems when operating.

The Micro Ethernet Probe allows for easy interoperability when it comes to LTE (News - Alert) eNodeB small cells. This also gives users the industry standard Ethernet service and OAM capabilities.

"Small cells have become the go-to solution for mobile operators to expand network coverage and deliver faster, more reliable service to their customers," said David Heard, president of the Communications Test and Measurement business segment at JDSU. "With SCAS, only JDSU offers an end-to-end solution that helps mobile operators manage the complexities of small cells and deliver the best user experience at the lowest possible cost."
