Xgig Fibre Channel BERT

The Xgig BERT solution simplifies signal integrity verification and high-speed bit error measurements by injecting data patterns into the traffic stream that create worst-case data loading conditions and stress a network's physical layer to its limits.

Descripción

To ensure error recovery mechanisms are reliable and accurately implemented, developers must test every possible condition to verify that equipment responds as expected.  The Xgig BERT (Bit Error Rate Tester) provides a low cost solution that simplifies signal integrity verification and high-speed bit error measurements by injecting data patterns into the traffic stream that create worst-case data loading conditions and stress a network's physical layer to its limits.

Users can select from a wide range of industry-standard worst-case data patterns specifically developed to check frequency response, data dependencies, and network interface components. Bit-by-bit comparison detects any differences between transmitted and received data, counting and capturing errors for additional analysis to further improve network robustness. Users can also create their own unique data patterns to meet special test requirements.

The Xgig BERT gives users the tools necessary not only to confirm that networks meet minimum data integrity standards but also to present these results in industry-accepted report formats to facilitate compliance testing and certification.  The Xgig BERT can also significantly reduce manufacturing test times for hubs, host bus adapters, FC RAIDs, and other active or passive devices by stressing all of the components in the data path.

  • Test at Full Line Rates, up to 8.5 Gb/s for Fibre Channel
  • Quickly and Accurately Calculate Bit Error Rates for High Speed Links
  • Prove Data Integrity Using Industry Standard Patterns
  • Comprehensively Stress Test Networks with Flexible, User-Defined Patterns
  • Simplify Verification Through Protocol-Aware Bit Error Rate Testing
  • Accuracy Capture Trace Data Using Triggered BER Tests
  • Analyze Link Status and Performance Through Latency Measurements
  • Verifies Data Across Re-timers, Multiplexers, and Repeaters
  • Track equipment status with extensive and continuously updated statistics
  • Accelerate Development and Troubleshooting Automated Testing

The Xgig BERT is a licensable option for Xgig multifunction blades.  It may be used in conjunction with the Xgig Analyzer and other licensable functions to trigger the analyzer and receive arming signals.
