Viavi Solutions has sold its ONT-600 400G tester to companies in high-speed optical networking ecosystem including chip, module and network equipment manufacturers, wireless carrier and industrial leasing solutions providers.

The test and measurement company said customers for Viavi Solutions’ ONT-600 400G include Japan’s ORIX Rentec; a tier-1 U.S. carrier; two network equipment manufacturers and chip and module vendors.

CLIENT DETAILS

# ORIX Rentec is Japan’s test and measurement instrument rental company

# The Tier-1 U.S. telecommunications carrier offers wireless, wireline and converged services

# A global manufacturer of fixed and wireless network equipment for carriers, enterprises, and cloud service providers

# A U.S.-based manufacturer of optical network infrastructure

# An optical communications module and subsystem vendor

# A provider of analog semiconductor solutions for the communications and computing markets

Viavi said wireless, cable and telecom operators by utilizing ONT-600 400G test solutions improve customer experience when they roll out gigabit connectivity to end users. Wireless, cable and telecom operators are accelerating deployment of high-speed optical technologies from access to the core.

Viavi’s ONT has the industry’s first 400G support to include forward error correction (FEC) and PAM4 modulation. Viavi said that the high-speed network ecosystem now has an integrated platform for design, development and validation of 400G technologies including CFP8 pluggable 400G optics.

“ONT-600 400G can scale with a range of future applications to address upcoming challenges such as FlexE, FlexO and future OTN. With numerous demonstrations of interoperability proving its readiness for market, we expect it to accelerate 400G solutions, from integrated chips, to CFP8 modules through to complete systems,” said Paul Brooks, 400G technology lead, Viavi Solutions.
