Read Me JDSU Driver V2.87 additional information Supported devices: SmartPocket: OLP-34, OLP-35, OLP-38 SmartClass: OCC-55, OCC-56, OLA-55M, OLP-55, OLP-57, OLS-55, OLT-55, ORL-55, c-Series: cOPM-A1, cORL-A1 Supported operating systems: Windows 2000 Windows XP, 32 Bit Windows Vista, 32 Bit Windows 7, 32 Bit and 64 Bit User Guide: Step 1: Install the appropriate driver(s) BEFORE connecting the device to the PC. Connecting the device without properly installed drivers will produce a faulty entry in the Windows Device Manager. This entry needs to be removed manually. Step 2: Connect the device via USB cable to the PC. Windows will allocate a COM number (i.e. “COM 4”) to the connection. This number can be checked using the Windows Device Manager. Step 3: Start Hyperterminal or any other serial port communication program. Configure the serial port as follows: Smart Pocket devices: Bits per second: 19200 Data bits: 8 Parity: None Stop bits: 2 Flow control: None Smart class devices and c-series devices: No manual configuration needed. Step 4: Test the connection using the query “:SYST:ERR?” that is supported by all devices. Repeat the query until the answer is “0, no error”. The query “*IDN?” will cause the device to send an identification string (i.e. “JDSU DEUTSCHLAND GMBH, OLP-35/12, A-0057, V02.00”).
