Observer nTAP 10/100 Copper

Copy fast ethernet traffic from a full-duplex copper link for a copper monitoring device

Features

  • Copies Fast Ethernet traffic from a full-duplex copper link for a copper monitoring device
  • Connects to the full-duplex link under test and an analyzer equipped with a dual-receive capture card

Install Observer nTAPs on 10 Mb, 100 Mb, or 1 Gb copper links for quick, anytime access to network traffic. Depending on your network, choose 10/100 or 10/100/1000 copper nTAPs to send perfect copies of critical traffic to network analyzers, remote monitoring appliances, forensics tools, and similar dual-receive devices. For further flexibility an Observer Copper-to-Optical Conversion nTAP is available.

nTAPs are passive, full-duplex devices, offering complete visibility to monitoring devices regardless of traffic level. They work with the leading management tools for quick and easy deployment. nTAPs are transparent for monitoring critical links, and provide continuous network data flow even if power fails. nTAPs are scalable, modularized, space efficient, and economical.

Which nTAP do I need? Tap vs Span

Place a 10/100 Copper nTAP between two devices of interest on a 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps copper link. Then attach a copper monitoring device to the nTAP. To successfully analyze the full-duplex link, the monitoring device must be equipped with a dual-receive capture card.
