Career Paths

VIAVI has offered me the ability to change career paths multiple times, be involved with different business units and technologies and work with customers and teams around the globe. With every new challenge, there has been one constant; great people working together with relentless passion for creating world class solutions to help their customers. Not many companies have the breadth of opportunities, the ability to innovate, or the global wide winning culture like I have found at VIAVI. The people, technology, culture, and rewarding work will keep me at VIAVI for many more years.

When I first started work as an intern, my first impression about VIAVI was a workplace with a culture of respect for individuals, consideration for employees, and everyone seemed to have good working relationships. All employees who worked with me treated me equally, even when I was a young intern. Climbing antenna towers to support customers was my first challenge. I have never forgotten that moment, my first tower on a cold winter day. During the early days as a TAC engineer, in a male-dominated workspace, many field customers told me "I'm not sure if you have the technical knowledge…or the ability to support…" at first. Today, the same customers contact me frequently for technical support, and I am happy and fulfilled, to help them and perform my job.
