J Quick check - Loop types

Knowledge Base - Solution

In J-Quick, what is this difference between hardware loop and permanent loop?
A hardware loop detected means there is a loop in place but there is no mac swapping performed. The frames are returned with the same source and destination addresses that they had when they were transmitted. A permanent loop means a loop was detected and mac swapping is being performed, as frames are received back at the testset with the source and destination mac addresses swapped from how they were originally transmitted.
