Data centers protect against data loss by replicating data to other sites over high-performance network links. Keeping those links at full performance — and proving it against SLAs — requires regular Ethernet and Bit Error Rate (BER) testing across line rates up to 800G, plus OTN, WDM, Fiber Channel, and SONET/SDH circuits. Most data centers, though, run lean, with few if any technicians on-site to do that testing.  

The MAP-2800 solves this: it lets data center operators and network service providers run high-performance BER tests securely and remotely, even at unmanned sites — so link quality gets verified without a truck roll.  

Service providers need high-speed testing solutions to test 400G/800G services via their fiber optic backbone to other service providers or data center operators.  This solution integrates seamlessly with the existing portfolio of field test instruments including ONA-800, NSC-200, ONX, and T-BERD/MTS-5800.

MAP-2800 can also be used as a centralized test head under the Fusion Ethernet test system offering customers a comprehensive portfolio of test devices that cover everything from virtual test agents to Smart SFP's and centralized test heads up to 800G.
