Chroma Couture uses the JDSU SpectraFlair Bright Silver pigment to create a luxurious brown face in combination with a rich dark side-tone color. Chroma Flame uses the JDSU ChromaFlair ColorShift pigment to produce an array of hues highlighting curves and creating a sense of motion over the vehicle surface.
Special options appeal to discerning car buyers who are willing to pay more for consumer items that reflect their own personal brand. The Lincoln team created this luxury collection to offer these buyers unique and personalized car models.
“Combining Lincoln’s design inspiration and JDSU’s unique pigment technology, we have jointly developed innovative exterior car colors to expand the automotive palette and provide car owners with the opportunity to elevate their driving experience,” said John Book, Custom Color Solutions product manager for the OSP business segment at JDSU.
Both colors are available on all Lincoln models as special option colors or as part of the new Lincoln Black Label special edition vehicles.
JDSU has been providing color trends information to the automotive industry on an annual basis for more than a decade.
JDSU introduced its revolutionary ChromaFlair pigments using Color by Physics® technologies in 1997. The pigments consist of unique, easily dispersed, multi-layer flakes that give automobile paints and coatings the ability to change hue when viewed from different angles. The pigments are highly chromatic, durable and can be easily incorporated into paints.
