Fiberchek Pro Core Saturation

Knowledge Base - FAQ

How does the "Fail if core is more than X % saturated" Advanced profile setting get applied during fiber inspection?
Core saturation % is defined as the number of pixels in the core with a ‘full white’ grayscale value (on the current camera is 255), divided by the total number of pixels in the core. The value set in the profile is compared, and if computed core saturation % is greater than what the profile allows, we fail the fiber. For example, if the there are 100 pixels in the core, and 25 of them are full white(255), we have 25% core saturation. If the profile allows 50% core saturation, the fiber would pass that check. However, if the profile only allows for 20% core saturation, the fiber would fail that check.
