    Versions Description:

    The latest software release includes several usability enhancements, these are the main new functional additions, for more information please see the release notes:

    OTDR, ExpertOTDR Application 

    • ExpertOTDR
      • Multi-pulse smart acquisition (SmartAcq) is now the default test mode
      • UI update to improve usability and clarity

    FiberComplete/FiberComplete PRO Applications

    • Automatic switch sequence management for multi-fiber projects up to 192 ports
      • Fiber mapping for fast continuity checks before starting full test sequence for external high-capacity switch
      • MPO native project support for external high-capacity switch
      • Automated bidirectional OTDR (TrueBIDIR) test sequence
    • Dedicated optical switch tab in settings menu
      • Configuration of switch modules (internal and external), making it easier to manage instrument to instrument connectivity, fiber mapping, and continuity/polarity checks
    • Loopback test
      • new launch, receive, and loopback cable setup diagram with text guidance to make physical connections and setup clearer

    Optical Spectrum Analysis (OSA) Applications

    • Nano OSA (OSA/OCV) enhancements
      • Switch between nm/THz units directly on measurement screen
      • WDM-Expert SW option: Adds ability to configure and sort OSA results table, DWDM ITU-T channel names and composite power in PDF report.

    Optical Dispersion Measurement Applications

    • Test Process Automation (TPA) support
      • New test types and configuration options for chromatic dispersion (CD), polarization mode dispersion (PMD), and attenuation profile (AP) measurements are available via TPA

    • Click on the flag icon to download from that regional server
    • Download the exe file to your PC
    • Once download completes, double click on file and select the USB drive and hit OK to uncompact files to USB

    Installation Instructions:

    Software can be deployed directly to instruments via StrataSync

    Upgrade from instrument (require an Internet connection):

    • Press HOME and then CONNECTIVITY
    • Set Address Type to ‘VIAVI Server’
    • Press SOFTWARE UPGRADE and then UPGRADE VIA ETHERNET
    • Press CONTINUE when prompted
    • Once the versions display on the right side of the screen press CONFIRM THIS CHOICE

    Upgrade from USB stick:

    • Place the USB on the SmartOTDR, T-BERD/MTS-2000, T-BERD/MTS-4000V2 mainframe
    • Press HOME and then CONNECTIVITY
    • Press UPGRADE and then UPGRADE FROM USB
    • Press Confirm when prompted
    • Once the USB versions display on the right side of the screen press CONFIRM THIS CHOICE

    Prerequisites:

    • It is recommended that the current Fiber Optics Software be at least 13.06
