Emerging 5G services pose new requirements, and consequently challenges, for transport networks. A dramatic increase in bandwidth and a sharp decline in latency are two of the most critical of these requirements. Addressing them necessitates splitting the functions in radio access networks. CPRI/eCPRI, IEEE, and xran are some of the organizations that have created new standards to design and characterize the new functional splits.
This webinar will start by listing the new requirements and challenges of current transport technologies, and focus on describing the split options and related service level agreements.
