PON Testing Product Overview
- Power Meters, Light Sources & Optical Test Kits
Broadband or wavelength selective power meters, coupled with light sources can be used individually or combined into optical test kits for basic fiber testing for PON build and network activation.
- PON Power Meters
Wavelength selective power meters that can operate in a pass-through mode and support burst mode measurements to give both up and downstream power levels for network activation of G-PON, XG(S)-PON and NG-PON2.
- Construction OTDR
Automated solutions for bi-directional Insertion Loss (IL), Optical Return Loss (ORL), distance and OTDR measurements. With a unique solution using one fiber connection with one button-push operation (including report generation), saves 40% testing time for commissioning feeder and distribution fibers as part of PON build & construction.
- PON OTDR
Specialized OTDR with dedicated PON/FTTH test applications utilizing multiple-pulse acquisition techniques for certifying the end-to-end PON build (including splitters and drop fibers), also utilizing out of band wavelengths for in-service troubleshooting.
- PON Network Activation & Install
Optical Fiber Meter for last mile FTTx test and certification that combines drop fiber certification and fault mapping with dual-band selective power measurement for E/G-PON & RF video (1490/1550nm) or E/G-PON & XGS-PON/10G-EPON (1490/1578nm) to ensure higher first time install success rate.
- PON Service Activation & Test
PON service activation and delivery checks combined with PON service and in premises distribution (Ethernet & WiFi) performance testing for tech and contractors handling installation, activation and troubleshooting of G-PON and XGS-PON FTTH residential broadband and small business services.
- Centralized PON Test
Centralized PON test can be used to characterize, validate and map end to end PON networks remotely from the Central Office to the termination point (ONT or drop point) as it is build, allowing a PON to be fully tested during construction with an ‘as built’ inventory and baseline documentation.
- Fiber Inspection and Accessories
Fiber end-face inspection remains the essential test tool to ensure connector cleanliness and to detect dirt particles or other defects whose impact can prevent PON network or service activation.
