Truespeed Layer 4 Testing Multiple connections
Knowledge Base - FAQ
Recommendations on the number of TCP connections in Truespeed Layer 4 testing when using the Troubleshooting mode and manual configuration.
If the user would like to use multiples TCP connections and is looking for a recommedation then a good rule of thumb is use 64 KB connections.
BDP = Link speed * RTT / 8 bytes
Then divide the BDP into 64,000 bytes to get number of connections to use. This is not a requirement just a general recommendation.
There are a set of rules for BDP and how convert to connection size on automatic TrueSpeed Test.
Here is a snippet of the table:
BDP Connection size
64 KB – 128KB 16 KB
129 KB – 256 KB 32 KB
257 KB – 512 KB 64 KB
