Avalanche: How to send DDoS attacks
We have 2 ways to send DDoS attacks by Avalanche. (1) DDOS feature under port tab.      i) Enable DDoS under client port table, and do necessary configuration under DDoS.      ii) Enable DDoS under Run-->Configure      Note: DDoS is a history feature as it is, no bug fixed on it. (2) ThreatEx feature in action list. Note: Both DDoS and ThreatEx will need license. It is best to create a DDoS test from scratch instead of importing an existing DDoS test. To create a DDoS test: • Make sure you have a DDoS license See What features do I need to do DDOS and other attacks in Avalanche? • Create a simple HTTP throughput test See Avalanche: Create a simple HTTP throughput test • Enable DDOS Functionality Client, Configure, Enable DDOS Functionality • Click DDOS column and add SynFlood DDoS Attack Client, Ports, DDOS (check) DDOS tab (scroll down) • Change GlobalStartDelay parameter Change to say, 200 • Run trial run • Run full run Run, Configure, Enable Client Packet Trace, Enable Server Packet Trace Note many Syn packets • Optionally change parameters See Attacks, Attack Variables, and Global Variables tab
