TTworkbench: How does TTworkbench Licensing work?
How does TTworkbench Licensing work? TTworkbench, TTsuites and TTplgins require a valid license file. The License file will be provided by the VIAVI TTworkbench Support Team. TTworkbench uses the FlexNet license server application with floating node-locked licensing (server-bound), i.e. the license is bound to a specific machine (License Server) and can be shared among multiple users (upper limit depends on the feature number in the license file). Such concept enables a great flexibility and cost efficiency. The license server must be installed on a computer in your local network and the traffic among the license server and your TTworkbench client computers must not be blocked (firewalled). TTworkbench Support Team needs the license server computer information, including the host name (computer name), the MAC address (the physical address of the Ethernet adapter) and OS for license generation. The FlexNet Licensing Server installer will be provided together with the license file and the users guide by TTworkbench Support Team. You can (install and) run TTworkbench on the same machine as your license server, or on separate computer(s) in your local network. Every time you start TTworkbench, the server is requested to verify and grant the required license features. In case of any connection issue, please refer to the following FAQ . If no specific port number is defined for the TCP/IP connection between the license server and the client, the default number from 27000 to 27009 is used. In case of Firewall issues, Please refer to the following FAQ . Fore more details of FlexNet license server usage, please refer to the licensing first steps guide and the FlexNet End User's Guide provided to you in the delivery mail from TTworkbench Support Team.
