VIAVI LabServer: Does my new VIAVI LabServer need to have a license installed?
• Even thought the VIAVI Labserver has a Flex-ID, it does not require that a separate license be installed on it. • All licensing is maintained by the VIAVI Test Center chassis/s that you are connecting too from the labserver. • We don’t generate actually licenses to enforce the number of sessions the customer purchased.   • The mechanism is in place on the Lab Server to support a license server, but we currently do not have this implemented.   • Most likely, AION licensing will end up supporting Lab Server licensing in the future. • Currently, the number of session on a labserver is not limited, so Customer need to be aware of too many sessions of an individual labserver that may cause poor performance. • Be aware of the amount of resources that was used in creation of a labserver. • Note the labserver admin port communicates with the chassis and user (GUI / API) so more users mean more bandwidth usage. • Unfortunately, there is no feature to specific multiple labservers in session manager to switch when one labserver resources is used up. • See also KNI16634 (some reference on session limits)
