VIAVI TestCenter: Able to SSH to the C50 but unable to connect to it using the GUI
Knowledge Base - FAQ
Two new C50s (SPT-C50-HWB-28 - contains two NIC-67) that were RMA'd because they would not boot. They were then returned with NFF (no fault found).
However, when the C50s were returned, they almost immediately experienced the same boot issue.
On many power cycle or soft reboot attempts (i.e., reboot command issued from root SSH login),
• the C50's LCD display would stay on the "Crystalfontz 633..." screen;
• the LED's on the NICs would seem to go through their boot sequence; and
• an admin login SSH session to the C50 would display:
login as: admin
admin@192.168.0.100's password:
Product : C50
Active Version : 5.41.2296
Hypervisor Version : 3.0
Device (IPv4) admin : 192.168.0.100 255.255.0.0, Gateway: 192.168.0.1 (static)
Serial number :
Standby Version : 5.41.2296
touch: cannot touch '/tmp/setup_slot.log': Permission denied
Active partition : yocto1
admin>
• However the STC GUI still could not connect to the C50.
Even after reimaging the chassis to 5.41.2296, the issue remained.
From the SSH session as root, the pkgmgr status command, which shows what VM/LXCs are running, displayed:
root@changeling-hypervisor:~# pkgmgr status
Installed Packages
stc-lxc-5.41.2296
chassis-5.41.2296
Active Packages
chassis-5.41.2296-0
Currently Running VM/LXCs
chassis-0
root@changeling-hypervisor:~#
But the list of currently running VM/LXCs should also show the containers for each NIC-67 card:
stc-lxc-9
stc-lxc-1
