Assuming that we would send a random Tx L1 rate with a min load of 20% and a max load of 70%, it consistently seems to be transmitting an average load of 45% instead of "varying randomly".  • •   Above behavior is expected. This happens because the rate is varying a lot (between 20% and 70% rate) and very quickly in continuous traffic, so VIAVI, basically, doesn’t have the ability to represent the rate variation in the GUI. The way to confirm that STC is generating the random load is by looking at the time between the captured packets. So, for this scenario (Random Load: Min = 20% / Max = 70%) and considering a Port Speed of 100G, you should see times between frames of ~59 nanoseconds as minimum (20G speed) and ~16 nanoseconds as maximum (70G speed). These calculations are explained in below screenshots: We can see times between ~48 and ~15 nanoseconds, which means a TX rate around 24.6% - 78.9%:
