VIAVI TestCenter: How to fix the first frames in an RFC 2544 test always being dropped
• Depending on the System under Test and its configuration, the first frames in a test can be missed or dropped because the system is not ready • Even if the gateway is resolved (from the VIAVI TestCenter perspective), it is possible that the other hops also need to reach some form of convergence When the RFC 2544 test is being configured, or after the test is configured, by right clicking on it in the Command Sequencer and selecting Edit, go to Configure Test Options: • Switching Learning to Learn every iteration might help resolve the addresses involved or avoid expired MAC table entries (however unlikely they are) • Enabling Traffic Verification will allow you to send a number of first frames outside the RFC 2544 test itself, at a reduced rate, to make sure the system is ready to route/switch the rest of the traffic. These frames will not be counted as dropped, even if dropped, for the purpose of RFC 2544.
