VIAVI TestCenter: Procedure to send STP BPDU using raw streamblocks in VIAVI TestCenter.
An XML and user definition file will need to be created. The bpdu.xml and bpdu.def files are attached below. • Place the XML file under      C:\ProgramData\VIAVI\TestCenter \Templates and      C:\ProgramData\VIAVI\TestCenter \Templates\Filters folders which located under VIAVITestCenter installed folder. Place the definition (.def) file under      C:\ProgramData\VIAVI\TestCenter \PDUs folder.   • Load a new definition file to port • The “Download PDU Definition to Port” can be accessed through “Manage FilterTemplates” or “Manage FrameTemplates” option. These option can be found at  • Traffic Generator Tab -> Add Raw Stream Blocks -> Frame tab -> Manage FrameTemplates  • Traffic Analyzer tab -> Manage FilterTemplates  • Capture tab -> Pattern Definition tab -> Add -> Manage FilterTemplates • Click the “Download PDU Definition to Port” button, and select the definition file from the list. Click “OK” to load the definition file to port. • Release and re-reserve port group.  • Create a new definition frame.  • Use the Traffic Generator to create a raw stream block • Traffic Generator Tab -> Add Raw Stream Blocks -> Frame tab -> Create New Frame -> Select Create New Frame option -> Select Advanced -> Select the frame template from the list -> Expand the Frame tree and modify frame content -> Click OK • Note: if you don't see the new template, check "Allow Invalid Packets" • Once you do the Download PDU Definition to Port, take the port offline and bring online again. You still have to set the LLC DSAP SSAP values manually when you create the packet. For STP, set DSAP and SSAP value as 0x42. • While creating a new frame, we need to choose Data link layer as 802.2; Upper layer protocols 1 as none;Upper layer protocols 2 as BPDU
