VIAVI TestCenter - STCv - Azure ports - Not able to reserve ports in v 5.15
Knowledge Base - FAQ
Customer is not able to reserve ports created over an Azure VM. Ports are seen as unavailable on the Spirent TestCenter Application, and also it is being showed the following error message:
"The test module firmware has chassis firmware with version . Please use the GUI to reserve the ports. If you want to use 2.20.0000 GUI, please visit support.spirent.com to download and upgrade the chassis firmware to 2.20.0000 version"
Customer's VM configuration:
Version : 5.15.0106
Portgroup size : 1 (auto)
Driver Mode : dpdk
RX queues/port : 2
RX VLAN strip offload : off
Benchmark : off
AdvancedL4L7 : off
Speed : 10G
Promiscuous : on
As per customer's testing, same issue does exist in STC 5.17 image too.
When setting RX queues/port = 1 the issue is gone, however customer needs to test with actual traffic (RX queues/port >= 2)
Steps tried:
• Attached and detached all allowed ports
• Enabled enhanced networking on data ports
• Tried with an Azure recommended VM size: "Standard DS3 v2 (4 vcpus, 14 GiB memory)”
