VIAVI TestCenter: Why do I not get and alert when I connect with a mismatch of GUI and Firmware in VIAVI TestCenter

VIAVI TestCenter GUI/Firmware mismatch The way we look at the release version is with the first 2 parts of the release number. So we would only look at 4.0, 4.1. 4.2 not at the complete version as in 4.03, 4.15, 4.22.This can be a problem since we do not issue an error till we try to use 4.00 or 4.1 on a 4.2.0 build. As soon as we increment the second digit  is when we will post a mismatch in the bll or display log. Error displayed in the log is "req EthCommonPHY_1.SetPHYConfig code 77 faultMsg ignoreFaultStatus not found in struct" To see this look at the equipment tab for both chassis version and the help about tab in the GUI. A failure will not show up till you issue a unsupported command in the gui or firmware. Solution: Upgrade or down grade till both the GUI and firmware match. CR 386156441 issued
