Question:
What is the difference between SPTS and MPTS in IPTV?
Answer:
SPTS stands for Single Program Transport Stream and MPTS stands for Multiple Program Transport Streams. An SPTS stream carries a single program and and an MPTS stream carries multiple programs. Multicast networks always use SPTS. VOD (Video on Demand), on the subscriber side, uses SPTS. Source feeds that deliver content from the VHO to the distrbituion offices are typically MPTS streams.
