Open Testing and Integration Labs

The labs provide facilities for testing, integration, and certification of Open RAN components. These labs ensure solutions meet interoperability and performance standards, enabling scalable and reliable deployments. OTICs help operators reduce deployment risks and costs by offering pre-tested and certified solutions.  Open Testing and Integration Centers (OTICs) are accredited by the O-RAN ALLIANCE and offer certification and badging programs that validate the compliance of hardware and software with O-RAN specifications.  They foster collaboration among vendors, operators, and developers.  OTICs host Spring and Fall PlugFests where participants test interoperability and validate new O-RAN technologies.  PlugFests help to move innovation forward and ensure diverse RAN components work seamlessly together in multivendor environments. 

VIAVI’s role in OTICs

VIAVI holds a prominent position in Open Testing and Integration Center (OTIC) labs, playing a crucial role in the development and validation of Open RAN technologies. You can find VIAVI working with OTICs across the world supporting the Testing, Certification and Badging of network equipment as well as helping to drive the industry forward with Plugfests and Proofs of Concepts. VIAVI has a strong position in OTIC labs and this is further reinforced by its active engagement in O-RAN ALLIANCE working groups, contributing to interoperability test specifications, End-to-end test frameworks, Open Fronthaul standards and security.
